(moved to
RHQ)but stayed in 47 until Oct 74.  Titles 3 (GW) Bty RA changed in 64
to 3 Army Missile Battery RA, sometimes with the logo "Myogee Bell" all
vehicles had a little gold bell on the vehicle doors.  Long time ago
now!!

if of interest to you ref 3/47 locations in my time:-
 
47 RA was at Denbury Camp,Newton Abbot,Devon in 69 and moved in same year to Houndstone Camp,Yeovil,Somerset remaining there until Feb 71 when we flew to Hong Kong to relieve 25 Light Regiment RA.
 
We left Hong Kong in Feb 73 (relieved by 3 RHA) and went to Kirkee Barracks,Colchester and were still there when I left in Oct 76. (We did of course visit Londonderry and Belfast in between!)

something) I left the army in 1997 joining Staffordshire police where I am now a traffic officer working on the M6/M5/M42/M40/M54 motoways.

Joined 3 Bty in 1968 at Denbury Camp, Devon, moved to Yeovil, 9 months unaccompanied in Sharjah, back to Yeovil, 6 weeks in Belfast then out to Hong Kong in 1971.  Moved to HQ Bty (Tech QM's) later in the year.

Bummed around unable to settle in civvy street for a couple of years before deciding to get myself educated, so i enrolled  in university got myself educated and now work in Forensic Psychiatry.

Just found your website. Nice to see some of the old faces. Cant believe many have the old squaddie tasche which makes them all look like extras from a spaghetti movie.
 
I served in 3 battery from 1979 - 1986- left Bramcote in August 79 with Ian Brown and Gary Williams. ( Nicholson troop JLRRA).Left 47 in 1986 , went back to Bramcote as a gunnery instructor.(replaced Trevor Chapman) Rather than go back to 47 I competed the commando course in 88 and went to 7 battery in Arbroath. If i remember rightly I last saw some of the old boys just before the 1st Guf war, down in Thorney.
 
Joined hertfordshire Fire brigade in 1990.transfered to london in 2005 - now an Assistant Divisional officer (Station Manager) based in Ealing.
